Vaiyapuri, is a film actor, comedian, who prominently works in Tamil cinema. Started his career as a supporting cast in 1993, Vaiyapuri has appeared in more than 200 films, but most remembered for films with Kamal Haasan. Vaiyapuri Early Life and Career
Born Ramakrishnan on 19 September 1950 in Theni, Tamil Nadu, India, Vaiyapuri didn’t go to schooling or college as his parents weren’t able to afford him education. He started his film career in Udan Pirappu but he rose to fame only after appearing in Balu Mahendra’s Tamil flick Raman Abdullah, where he played a servant role.
The success of the film fetched him many offers from several directors during that time. He rose to prominence as a comedian and was the most sought comedian in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Vaiyapuri had associated himself in almost all of the films with Kamal Haasan, and in fact, he was one of his favorite comedians. Kamal Haasan offered him comedy and supporting roles in his films. He is a very reserved person who has only friends in Tamil film industry.
Some of his notable films are Raman Abdullah (1997), Kaadhala Kaadhala (1997), Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen (1998), Rhythm (2000), Dumm Dumm Dumm (2000), Gemini (2002), Vasool Raja MBBS (2004), Pokkiri (2007), Osthe (2011), and Uttama Villain (2014) among others.
Vaiyapuri is married to Anandhi and the pair together has a son named Shravan. He was one among the 15 contestants in the first season of reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan.
