Early Life: Family and Education

Shruti Haasan is the oldest daughter of actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur. Her father is a renowned actor turned politician down south. She has a younger sister, Akshara Haasan, who is also an actress. Her cousins are actresses Anu Hasan and Suhasini Maniratnam. Actor and lawyer Charuhasan is her paternal uncle.

Shruti has a mixed ancestry as her father Kamal is an Iyer from Tamil Nadu whereas her mother Sarika was born to a Maharashtrian father and a Rajput mother.
