Sri Ram, also known as either Shree or Sri, is a film actor who is best known for his works in Tamil cinema. Debuted as a serial artist in Kana Kaanum Kaalangal on Star Vijay, his performance in the serial fetched him a lead role in Balaji Sakthivel’s drama thriller Vazhakku Enn 18/9. He received critical acclaim for his stellar performance as Sri in the film Maanagaram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Shree Early Life and Career
Born in 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Sri Ram was raised in Chennai. After high school, he was enrolled in Visual Communication at Loyola College, Chennai.
While pursuing his degree, he was offered a role to play in the television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal on Star Vijay. Later he auditioned for the lead role in the 2007 film Kalloori but ended up with no success.
Sri apparently received an offer to play a lead role in a Tamil film and subsequently completed auditioned for his feature film debut in Balaji Sakthivel’s drama thriller Vazhakku Enn 18/9 (2012) featuring newcomers, and it went on to open to unanimously positive reviews.
The success of the film earned him fame and garnered several film offers, but was reluctant to only opt for promising films. It was around the same time, he got an offer to play in Nalan Kumarasamy’s flick Soodhu Kavvum, but he turned down the offer. Later, he went on to appear in Mysskin’s Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum (2013), which earned both critical acclaim and positive reviews.
Almost all of his movies have been acclaimed critically and were commercial successes, including Soan Papdi, Vil Ambu, and Maanagaram. Sri is now considered one of the promising actors in Kollywood.
He was one of the 15 participants in the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Kamal Haasan, but he left the show on the fourth day due to medical reasons.
