Very little is known about her family and early life. Her mother is a Mormon from a small American town, and her father, from a Muslim family, is from Iran. She has two sisters.

Green attended the University of California in Berkeley from where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and education in 2011. She intends to pursue a doctorate degree in Public Health.
