Kamal Haasan is the youngest of three children to D. Srinivasan, a lawyer, and Rajalakshmi, a housewife. He has three older siblings, Charuhasan (actor), Chandrahasan (lawyer), and Nalini Raghu (classical dancer).
Haasan received his basic education in Paramakudi and then moved to Chennai along with his family. He attended Sir M. Ct. Muthiah Chettiar Boys Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Kamal didn’t even complete his school studies and dropped out in 8th or 9th grade.

Kamal and actress Sarika began dating while he was still in his marriage relationship with ex-wife Vani. She gave birth to their first child, daughter Shruti Haasan in 1986, and then they entered into a live-in relationship in 1988. Film Debut
As a child artist, Kamal Haasan debuted in the 1960 Tamil film, Kalathur Kannamma as Selvam. He starred in less than a dozen films in minor roles before landing his first major breakthrough role as Thiagu in 1973 Tamil film Arangetram, directed by K. Blalachander.
