Daniela Ruah is a Portuguese-American actress who catapulted to stardom with her portrayal of NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye in the CBS police procedural series NCIS: Los Angeles. She started her acting career at the age of 16 when she got an offer to play Sara on the Portuguese soap opera Jardins Proibidos. Early Life: Family and Education
Daniela Ruah is the daughter of Moisés Carlos Bentes Ruah, an ENT surgeon, and Katharina Lia Azancot Korn, an Otologist. She has a stepbrother named Mark Alexander Sechter Ruah. Her father is of Portuguese-Moroccan Jewish ancestry whereas her mother’s family were Russian-Ukrainian Jews that moved to Portugal.
Daniela Ruah attended Saint Julian’s School in Greater Lisbon. At the age of 18, she moved to the United Kingdom, where she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in performing arts from the London Metropolitan University.
In 2007, she enrolled herself at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute to study acting and theatre.
