While pursuing his degree, he was offered a role to play in the television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal on Star Vijay. Later he auditioned for the lead role in the 2007 film Kalloori but ended up with no success.
Sri apparently received an offer to play a lead role in a Tamil film and subsequently completed audition for his feature film debut in Balaji Sakthivel’s drama thriller Vazhakku Enn 18/9 (2012) featuring newcomers, and it went on to open to unanimously positive reviews.
The success of the film earned him fame and garnered several film offers, but was reluctant to only opt for promising films.
